Industrial and Demanding Environments
The ABL Industrial National Accounts Group focuses on industrial customers who have a wide variety of processes and environments within their facilities. These environments include standard light and heavy industrial applications including what we at Acuity Brands Lighting define as “Demanding Environments” which include Food Processing and Hazardous/Petro-Chemical facilities.

Critical areas in a Demanding Environment facility, along with light and heavy industrial facilities, require precisely designed luminaires to provide the optimum in plant floor lighting as well as the lowest “Long Term Operating Costs”.

By combining ABL’s product portfolio of precisely designed luminaires in conjunction with our standard luminaire offering, the ABL National Accounts is uniquely positioned to meet both the short term and long term sustainability within a facility to provide a completely integrated lighting system.

The Challenge of
"Sustainable Lighting"

ABL’s industrial customers are increasingly challenged with the need to be stewards of the environment. Real pressures to become ‘Green’, the catch word that is now driving building design for new and existing plants and facilities, poses new challenges for those who want to address energy concerns.

While many lighting companies are capitalizing on this energy trend, they do so without considering the customers total cost of ownership.

Acuity Brands Lighting embraces the challenge to deliver the best lighting environment through marketing, research and development, and new manufacturing methods to give our customers energy savings and the lowest cost of ownership.

Addressing National Regulatory Groups
The capabilities’ that ABL provides to our customers goes far beyond that of other lighting suppliers. ABL has the luminaire choices and design experience that will help you and your engineering and maintenance teams design a lighting system compliant with:

• Local, State, and Federal Energy codes including EISA and EPAct.
• Green Building Standards as established by Green Globes and LEED.

Setting the Bar
Industrial and Demanding Environment lighting holds many challenges and one is the need for increased light levels for safety concerns while lowering the Kilowatt usage in the new design. This is where ABL’s luminaire technology in Optical Control, Ballast Design and Thermal Management Systems all play a key role in being able to:

• Achieve more light with fewer fixtures or reduced lamp wattages.
• Overcome any harsh environmental factors in the space with an
appropriately applied luminaire.

Turnkey Indoor Lighting Services
In partnership with the Acuity Brands relight and renovation company, SAERIS, ABL provides National Accounts programs that incorporate Turnkey Lighting Services for existing industrial, warehousing and demanding environment facilities to assist with corporate wide energy reduction programs.

In addition to providing lighting design, facility audit services and an economic payback analysis, SAERIS can also furnish:

• Project management
• Labor for installation
• Disposal of the existing lighting system
• Warranty services of a facility’s lighting upgrade regardless of its location within the United States.

Financing a lighting project is available for those customers who desire an alternate method to invest in a lighting upgrade rather than utilizing internal capital expenditure funds to support the project.

The ABL National Accounts Group has the ability to provide state-of-the-art lighting control systems from our ABL companies Synergy, LC&D and Sensor Switch. These products can be engineered into lighting systems providing unparalleled control and maximize energy savings, further reducing your companies carbon footprint.

Remote Operations Asset Management:
On average 5-10 percent of outdoor pole-mounted light fixtures on a given system are not working at any one time. This results in customers being billed for services they are not receiving, and excessive energy consumption and costs through day-burning light fixtures.

In the past, outdoor lighting system owners and operators were unable to quickly detect, repair and manage problems with their lighting systems. They also could not provide the levels of service expected by the public. Now, with ROAM products and services, you can.
